PacRim 2012 will be held in Port Stephens, Au and organized by Port Stephens according to existing Pacific Rim Yacht Challenge Charter which was established in the early days of PacRim and approved by both the Bellingham Sister Cities Organization and the Bellingham Yacht Club boards.
The dates for the 2012 PacRim Regatta are: March 17th – March 24th , 2012
Country applications are requested by August 1, 2011 with each participant fees of $250 au, payable by September 30th, 2011
Yachts will be Hood 23’s (similar to Cal 20’s) and Etchells
It is suggested that we supply 3 crew members for each yacht, with a reserve sailor for those yachts with no owner rep.
A total of 20 persons will be selected (racers and ambassadors), with both the BSCA and BYC represented.
Membership in a Bellingham area Yacht Club required for racers; priority given to participation in the BYC.
Bellingham Sister Cities membership required for both racers and ambassadors upon selection.
Included in the $250au participant fee: Homestays during the scheduled event, many meals and activities in addition to racing.
Costs exceeding the participant fee of $250au will include personal airfare, approx. $300 per person for uniform costs and gifts for host family, boat insurance fees for racers (to be determined by PSYC), cost oftaking host families out for one dinner at as local Port Stephens restaurant.
Passports and Visas are required.
