While our team heads off to lands charted under the Southern Cross to compete in PacRim 2012, it is hard to believe but it is time to start planning for PacRim 2014 that will be held here in Bellingham. While the exact dates have not been set, it is looking like late summer, early fall. Those dates present the best winds for an international contest such as PacRim.
But running the races of PacRim 2014 will only a small part of what we, the community of Bellingham, will need to do. We will have hundreds of visitors, needs for home stay’s for nearly all of them, daily events for about 60-80 people to learn about Bellingham and our community, receptions and closing night celebrations for a few hundred each, as well as the daily logistics, in minute detail, of what will occur. In other words, this is a once in a 12 year event to showcase Bellingham, Whatcom County and our boating community.
If you would like to participate in the planning for this Bellingham Sister City sponsored event, supported by the Bellingham Yacht Club, please contact Karen Callery or Carol Veach of the Bellingham City Cities Association. (edit)
